Letter From The Manse July 2010
This is a new concept as usually the manse letter coincides with the Church magazine which takes a break over July & August. I have just gone on holiday and it has been a long haul not having had a break since last November! Many of you will be aware that the last 9 months in particular have been difficult for the manse family due to the loss of Elspeth's father and now the on-going health worries of her mother and my own parents.
That said, we welcome the thoughts and prayers of many that have sustained us and will continue to sustain us..........and of course we continue to pray for you, hence the reason of this extra letter.
To anyone out there who reads this has faced similar worries and problems it is beneficial to know that people are praying for you, so if you think it doesn't work then you are wrong.
The Church is not the stuffy, boring building on the High Street of Bonnyrigg, but a place of refuge, of hope, of friendship, of fun, of life and I could go on. Mostly, it is a place where ordinary people meet week by to be strengthened for the week ahead.
So why not give God a chance........you are invited to join us and see that God is Good!
See you all after my break!
Yours in His name,
John.
