Letter From The Manse February 2010
Dear Friends,
Welcome to the first edition of The Window 2010! Since last writing it’s been a very busy time working our way through the month of December and into January with a bang as we faced one of the most difficult times of adverse snow conditions for many years.
It caused disruption to Church services which also had to be cancelled in the more rural parts of the country……can you imagine it, a minister getting a Sunday off!!.......but not in Bonnyrigg!!!
Joking aside we entered the New Year greeting our theme for this year ‘A God of Miracles.’ This theme will be a regular focus in our worship over the coming months and in just the space of a few weeks we have already witnessed God’s hand of healing at work.
In connection with this year’s theme another aspect of the Christian life comes to the fore……and that’s prayer. Prayer and healing go hand in hand and we will also focus upon this aspect of the Church’s life as well.
Another new venture for us is the recording of the Sunday service and Wednesday morning service on audio CD for anyone interested. This facility would be ideal for someone who is currently ill or housebound so do let me know.
With a fresh theme to focus upon and other plans in the pipeline let us hope and pray for more miracles, a growing church and a church that takes up the challenge of Jesus and reflect the light of the world to others.
I am hoping to include a special surprise at worship on the last Sunday of February so make sure you don’t miss out on what should be a very special morning. With plans and surprises afoot who says the church is dead! Not with us, so if you are reading this and have no church connection why not try us out!
Yours in His name,
John
